Change a Domain's Nameservers
GUIDE-7.2 · 1 min · Updated September 2026
NameBright's default nameservers are ns1.namebrightdns.com and ns2.namebrightdns.com . You can point a domain to a different set instead, or reset it back to NameBright's defaults.
Log in to your NameBright account.
Go to Domain Manager and select a domain.
Under the Nameservers section, select Manage Nameservers .
Here you can add, edit, or reset your nameservers.
To use NameBright's nameservers, select Reset Nameservers .
For third-party nameservers, enter the nameservers your provider gave you.
Save your changes.
Changing your nameservers hands DNS control for the whole domain to whoever operates those nameservers. Any records set up in NameBright's DNS Records section stop applying once the new nameservers take effect — you'll manage DNS at the new provider instead.
If you're setting up and hosting your own DNS server for this domain, rather than pointing to a provider's existing nameservers, see Manage Custom Nameservers instead.
Update Nameservers in Bulk
To change nameservers on multiple domains at once, go to Domain Manager , switch to Advanced view, and select the domains you want to edit. Once at least one is selected, the bulk action buttons above the domain table become active. Select the Nameservers bulk action button, then edit the setting the same way you would for a single domain. Save your changes. NameBright applies the update to every domain you selected.
Update Nameservers on a Category
To change nameservers for every domain in a category at once, go to My Categories , select the category, open Category Settings , and enable Nameservers there, then follow the steps above.
