Your account-level contact information, under My Account > Contacts, is your own contact info as the account holder. Each domain also has its own Registrant, Technical, and Administrative WHOIS contacts, which can be set individually, per category, or in bulk. Editing your account-level contact info gives you the option to apply the same change to a domain's WHOIS contacts, but the two are otherwise separate.

Yes, nothing requires waiting until close to the expiration date. As is standard across the domain industry, the added term typically stacks onto your domain's existing expiration date rather than starting fresh from the renewal date.

The domain is yours immediately, assigned NameBright's default nameservers (ns1.namebrightdns.com / ns2.namebrightdns.com) unless you specify your own. From there, it's ready for you to configure: pointing it at a website, setting up email, adding URL forwarding, or leaving it as-is if you're holding it for later.
