FAQs

Email

Whether a domain comes with email, how many mailboxes you get, client settings, forwarding to an existing address, and what happens when a domain transfers away.

No. Email hosting is a separate paid add-on. Registering a domain gets you the name itself. To get a working inbox at that domain, add one of NameBright's email plans on top.

It depends on the plan tier. Personal includes 1 mailbox, Bronze 10, Silver 20, Gold 40, and Platinum 80. Storage per plan rises with the tier as well. To add more mailboxes than your tier allows, upgrade to a larger plan. There is no per-mailbox add-on.

Yes. Email is one of the settings that can be applied at the category level, so one configuration covers every domain in the category instead of setting each one up individually.

Incoming mail is POP3.NameBrightMail.com on port 110, or 995 for SSL. Outgoing is SMTP.NameBrightMail.com on port 587, or 465 secured. Authentication is required, using the full email address as the username. NameBright supports POP3 and SMTP but not IMAP, so if your client asks you to choose, pick POP3. Webmail is available at www.NameBrightMail.com if you would rather not configure a client.

Yes. Email forwarding is free and needs no paid email plan. It redirects mail addressed to your domain into an inbox you already use, rather than creating a new mailbox with its own storage. You cannot send mail from a forwarding address.

NameBright has not published guidance on this. Whether an active email plan stays tied to your NameBright account independently of the domain, or is affected by the domain leaving, is not documented. If you have an active email plan and are planning to transfer a domain elsewhere, check with support first.
