Take help.namebright.com apart, left to right:

• `help` — a subdomain. Optional, and there can be more than one ( a.b.namebright.com is valid). Subdomains let one domain host multiple distinct sections or services.

• `namebright` — the second-level domain (SLD). This is the part most people mean when they say "the domain name," the part you actually chose and registered.

• `.com` — the top-level domain (TLD). This is the category the domain belongs to, and it's what you're actually registering rights to use alongside your chosen SLD.
